THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING AN ETSY SHOP/STORE or ANY PASSIVE INCOME
WHAT MOST DON’T or WON’T TELL YOU:
OK, let’s get right to it, you don’t know where to start, what platform to use, how to sign up for your shop/store, you don’t know what tools/software to use either free or paid or sign up for these either and you have no idea in what order to get all this up and running, right?
I already know the answer is YES to all the above, so I am going to show you the EXACT and FREE methods to get started, how to sign up for each tool or shop and how to get started and set up each one, how and where to keep/store this information, sound good? Great, let’s dive in.
INTRODUCTIONS 1ST and a little about ME:
Hi all, my name is Harry, but I use my “pen name” DaFinchy, (I know, I know it’s a play on the name Davinci but hey, I’m an artist too) for most things I do and teach.
I have many years of expertise in as a PT (personal trainer), website design, building shops, writing code, development and am an expert in Photoshop to name but a few but, moreover I hate it when anyone claims to be an “expert” but really isn’t so, I am here to save you a ton of time and expense and develop your learning curves in a short a time as possible.
LET’S CUT THE BS FROM DAY 1:
If you see a social media ad or video or anything else stating “I make $5,000 a month easily on bla bla bla in less than an hour a day and you can too, here’s how” IT’S BS”, then they show you multiple screenshots of how much they make, again BS to entice you to sign up for either a “FREE” gift, training session or webinar workshop.
This method is known as a “LEAD MAGNET” a hook if you like which is fine as they want to sell you stuff, but, here’s the kicker (and this isn’t everyone) they waffle on and on about their lives, families, how they got where they are for everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr before they start throwing in “You too can have this lifestyle” and “If you could do this one simple thing that takes less than an hour a day to get this wouldn’t you do it”, again these are known as hooks DON’T FALL FOR IT!
HOW I DO IT AND HOW IT SHOULD ETHICALLY BE DONE:
YES I do make “lead magnets” and give stuff away for FREE and yes I will be selling courses, PLR products and eBooks but, I will NEVER BS you and NEVER charge the ridiculous amounts others do just to train you, I believe in the adage “Keep costs low but the teaching element high” and “The better you treat your customers and students both financially and personally, the more loyal followers, students and customers you will get coming back”, see, KEEP IT HONEST, KEEP IT SIMPLE!
QUICK QUESTION (and be honest with your answer):
Would you rather overprice a product for say $1,997 and sell only 5 which makes a total of $9,985 but takes 6 months or even longer or would you rather sell the same product for say $24 but get 2,000 sales because you are giving good value which makes a total of $48,000, I KNOW WHICH I PREFER, and this is exactly how I do it.
So, $9,985 by selling a few and make people angry or $48,000 by selling lots and keep loyal customers, students etc coming back for more, makes sense, right?
JUST REMEMBER THIS:
Some that make these outlandish claims may actually be raking in these huge amounts of money per month but, they have also been doing this for years and years to get to that point, THERE IS NO GET RICH QUICK scheme so if you see any of these, I have mentioned above STEER CLEAR!
If it seams too good to be true IT GENERALLY IS!
THINGS YOU NEED TO DO FIRST:
SET TIME ASIDE TO READ, WATCH & LEARN: We all start out somewhere and we all have busy lives, families, expenses, worries and so on but, you MUST set aside a little time each day to study and learn before putting into practice. Do it in bite sized chunks because it’s easier to learn something that is short and memorable than trying to cram it all at once.
TAKE NOTES FOR YOURSELF AS YOU GO: This is where most people come undone, they try remember each thing they are learning and if you are like me then that’s a big bummer so, what I suggest (and this IS what I do) is to either get yourself a notebook, make an index at the front page, number the pages as you go along taking notes on each thing you learn, give each page a HEADING and page number, add each heading to the index we talked about or. A BETTER way is to do it on a PC or laptop like this (and this is my favourite method), using SIMPLE file keeping methods.
HOW TO KEEP FILES/FOLDERS IN ORDER WITH CONTENT:
On your PC or laptop go to your “Documents or My Documents folder”, right click in blank area and choose “New Folder” now name this folder (if it’s for ETSY shop) “ETSY”, open this folder and now repeat the process but this time name the folder “DOCS” then make another named “LESSONS” next, make another and name this “LOGINS”, finally make one more named “LINKS”, you see where I’m going with this.
So now you should have MAIN folder named ETSY and sub folders named DOCS, LESSONS, LOGINS and LINKS.
Now to keep things in order for example this document you are reading now I would save in “ETSY” (Main folder) then in sub folder “DOCS” but as it is a lesson, I may also save it in the sub folder named “LESSONS” this way you keep everything in an easy to find and sort format to refer back to any time you need to.
BIG TIP!
Let’s say you watch a video whether it’s from me or just on YouTube what I do is copy the URL (YouTube video website address), go into the “LINKS” sub folder, RIGHT click and choose “NEW” then “SHORTCUT”, paste the URL I just copied into the first box, click NEXT then give it a name, for instance you cold name it “How to SEO and Esty shop” if that’s what you were watching and want to save.
This way you never have to have too many tabs open, never have to keep bookmarking videos/sites etc you just refer to your “LINKS” folder where you stored it all.
If I have just signed up say for ETSY and I have to log in to use it online then you obviously have a username and password, in this instance I would copy the login URL to ETSY (after I signed up), follow the steps above but this time save it in the folder named “LOGINS”, next I would either open notepad or Word and type in my username and password and save this file inside “LOGINS” folder and just name it “Etsy Login stuff” this way you keep the URL (location/website address link) and the login details (so you don’t have to remember them) together in the same folder.
KEEP EVERYTHING SIMPLE, SAVE EVERYTHING AND YOU WON’T GO FAR WRONG!

WHY PRINT ON DEMAN?
OK, let me put it this way, would you rather 1: create a product ONCE with seriously low cost but good margins and sell this product over and over again, NEVER have to deal with printing/production, packaging, posting and make a passive income by letting someone else do all that work or 2: would you rather have to buy or find stock of physical products that YOU have to warehouse, package, post/ship yourself with all the time and costs incurred yourself?
C’MON, THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE RIGHT, YEP YOU GOT IT No: 1.
